Cobalt Blue Metallic is coming back, we are seeing it all over the roads these days with some of the sportier brands. So it is super cool to see it on a Custom Shop Strat that has been relic'ed! We have all the classic Relic spots like chips, dings, dents, some arm wear, buckle rash, weather checking, and the lacquer on the back of the neck is thinned a touch. Aside from being beautiful, it plays magnificently and has a set of handwound pickups from Josephina that are so versatile, it's hard to imagine all these tones coming from one guitar!

The neck is made from a piece of Quartersawn Maple and carved to a very comfortable 60 Style Oval C neck Profile. It's a little on the slim side, more like a Medium-Slim feel. It is topped with a AAA Rosewood Fingerboard that is cut to a 9.5" radius and fretted with Jescar 57110 fret wire that does the Vintage Tall thing perfectly. We have classic Fender nut width and scale length that give the guitar an immediately familiar feel. An Alder body helps gives the guitar a powerfully forward sounding guitar. Weighing in at 7 lbs 12 oz, this Strat is a little heavier than some of our other feather weights but is still extremely comfortable when on a strap due to being well balanced.

The pickups are a set of the famed Texas Special Single Coil pickups but these are handwound by. These Texas Specials are nice and hot when yoiur volume is on 10. Great for pushing a tube amp into drive or flat out gain, if the traditional Single Coil is a little too weak for you, you MUST hear a set of these handwound's! They are tied to a master volume, 2 tone controls and a 5 way switch allowing you to easily dial in all the classic tones.

The Music Gallery has been a Fender Custom Shop dealer since their formation in 1987. We keep a bevy of about 50 Fender Custom Shop instrument in inventory at all times. Whether you're looking for Stratocasters, Telecasters, Precision Basses or Jazz Basses we are able to help you design or find whatever the special instrument you're looking for may be!

Video

Features

Fender Custom Shop

1961 Stratocaster

Relic: Factory Distressed Finish

Cobalt Blue Metallic Finish

Weighs 7 lbs 12 oz

Alder Body

Quartersawn Maple Neck

AAA Rosewood Fingerboard

60 Style Oval C Neck Profile

25.5" Scale

Bone Nut

Jescar 57110 Frets

9.5" Fretboard Radius

Handwound Texas Special Pickups

Master Volume

2 x Tone Controls

5 Way Switch

Certificate of Authenticity

Original Hardshell Case

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0834/8260/7767/files/DSC_8833_6a40356f-0141-4a1d-ba6d-ddbae7f3ff03.jpg?v=1790889405
https://www.creindo.shop/products/fender-custom-shop-1961-stratocaster-relic-cobalt-blue-metallic-cz537704
